Rod Fountain is a seasoned freelance photographer with over two decades of experience, renowned for his work behind the scenes on the BBC's iconic Top Gear TV show. His extensive portfolio spans automotive, corporate, portrait, wildlife, and landscape photography, showcasing a versatile skill set honed through years of diverse assignments.

During his tenure with Top Gear, Rod was embedded with the camera crews and presenters, capturing stills in dynamic and often challenging environments. His assignments took him to remarkable locations—from uncovering the source of the Nile to navigating tense situations in Argentina, and spending countless days at the Dunsfold Aerodrome. These experiences not only refined his technical prowess but also his ability to adapt and thrive under pressure.

Beyond his work on Top Gear, Rod has contributed to various television and film productions, including Joe and Caspar Hit the Road and Clarkson: The Italian Job. His expertise extends to corporate events, private functions, and portrait sessions, where he brings a unique perspective and attention to detail.

A Canon Ambassador, Rod has been recognised for his contributions to photography and has shared his insights at events like the NEC Photography Exhibition. Currently, Rod utilises Canon's EOS R5 and R bodies, complemented by RF and EF lenses, to capture high-quality images that reflect his passion and expertise in the field.
